Hi LM, This is great info! I did not realize it was this serious. I simply chose not to forward them just because it said to or else. Its the bull-headedness in me :-) Thanks for yet another reason not to! TeresaHi Teresa, thanks for commenting! Well, I don't think it is this serious. You see, this article was an April Fool's Day prank. I do know you have to be careful with emails, but I took it one step further. A conspiricy theory, if you will. Judging from all the responses, most everyone believed me! How cool would it be to end up on Snopes! I'm with you, though. I often ignore those emails just because it said to send them.
I have a strict policy of never forwarding chain mail, regardless of how many dying children I might raise awareness for (emotional blackmail is rife in these messages). Good article!Good Morning, CB. I'm with you - I don't often forward them and if I do, I delete the part telling me to do it! I guess this article was just close enough to the truth to be believable? As I wrote, I wondered if any part of it could ever be true. Probably, soon it will be. Thanks for reading and responding to my AFD article.
Great advice and I love the whole Govt. conspiracy theory side to this issue. Uhh, let me correct that, it's not a consiparcy theory if it's true, right. I certainly would not put it past any Govt body to use tactics like this. In fact, they are worse in my opinion than the people who created the chain letter and play off peoples need to have something good in their lives and let themselves believe in these letters. Ooops, let me correct myself again, the Govt. and the letter creator are probably one and the same! Great piece.Hey Myla. Did I at least have you thinking about the frequency of your jury duty summonses? This was a fun piece to write and since I don't write often, it was even more fun to see the results. Hope you had a fun AFD.
I delete them. They're illegal anyway. Unfortunately, we have too many superstitious people who will forward them.Good morning, Terry. Man, I hear ya. I am amazed at the number of people who truly believe something good will happen or tragedy will occur based on clicking a send button on a computer. Hope you had a fun AFD. I know I did!
